The above video was filmed at high tide at around midday on 17 December 2015, around a week after storm Desmond.

There is nothing particularly notable about this high tide, but it does highlight the pummeling that the promenade takes very year.

I'm not sure the exact date when the above damage occurred. This picture was taken on the 17th December 2015 but I had noticed the damage around a week earlier on the 10th.

So far this winter we've had the following storms;

  • Abigail - 12/13 November 2015
  • Barney - 17/18 November 2015
  • Clodagh - 29 November 2015
  • Desmond - 4/5 December 2015

Potentially we've still got Frank, Gertrude, Orla and Wendy to come. But with any luck they might not be with us till next winter.

You can see the full list at the Met Office's UK Storm centre.

When the weather calms down a bit (and time permits), I'll take some more photos of the damage inflicted to the promenade.
